Milling tooth
Milling teeth with disk module milling cutter or finger milling cutter belongs to forming processing, and the cross-section shape of milling cutter teeth corresponds to the shape between gear teeth. This method has low processing efficiency and precision, and is only suitable for single piece and small batch production.
Forming gear grinding
It also belongs to forming method processing. Because the grinding wheel is not easy to repair, it is less used.
Gear hobbing
It belongs to generative machining, and its working principle is equivalent to the meshing of a pair of helical gears. The prototype of the gear hob is a helical gear with a large helical angle. Due to the small number of teeth (usually the number of teeth z = 1) and long teeth, a worm with a small helical rise angle is formed around the shaft, and then it becomes a hob with cutting edge and back angle after slotting and tooth shoveling.
Shaving
Shaving is a common finishing method for non hardened tooth surface in mass production. Its working principle is to make free meshing movement between the shaving cutter and the processed gear, and shave fine chips from the tooth surface with the help of the relative slip between them, so as to improve the accuracy of the tooth surface. Shaving can also form drum teeth to improve the position of tooth surface contact area.
Gear shaper
Gear shaping is a commonly used tooth cutting process using generation method except gear hobbing. During gear shaping, the gear shaping cutter and the workpiece are equivalent to the meshing of a pair of cylindrical gears. The reciprocating motion of the gear shaper cutter is the main motion of the gear shaper, and the circular motion made by the gear shaper cutter and the workpiece according to a certain proportional relationship is the feed motion of the gear shaper.
Generating grinding
The cutting motion of gear grinding by generative method is similar to that of gear hobbing. It is a tooth profile finishing method, especially for hardened gears, it is often the only finishing method. The generating method can be grinded with worm wheel, conical wheel or dished wheel.
Gear honing
The honing principle is similar to shaving. The honing wheel and the workpiece are similar to a pair of helical gears, which are meshed without backlash. The honing is carried out by using the relative sliding at the meshing position and applying a certain pressure between the tooth surfaces.
WEDM
WEDM is called wire cutting for short. It is developed on the basis of EDM perforation and forming. It has not only developed the application of EDM, but also replaced EDM perforation and forming in some aspects.
